About Club Da Vinci

Club Da Vinci is a six-session art education program for students 8 to 12 years of age. It is designed
to enrich the lives of students through an engaging, hands-on curriculum teaching art history, art
appreciation, and art techniques. Using the work of the masters from across the centuries, students
will be taught how to look at, understand, appreciate and be comfortable around art.

Why Da  Vinci

Widely considered to be one of the greatest painters of all time, Leonardo da Vinci was diversely
talented. Often described as the “Renaissance man,” one whose seemingly infinite curiosity was
equaled only by his powers of invention. Da Vinci not only painted masterpieces (“The Last Supper”
and the “Mona Lisa”) but was also a scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist,
sculptor, architect, botanist, musician and writer. Da Vinci did not see a divide between science and
art.
It is the goal of Club Da Vinci to arouse in each student a Renaissance-like curiosity in the arts and
its importance in all aspects of society.

“Iron rusts from disuse, stagnant water loses its purity and in cold weather becomes frozen; even so does
inaction sap the vigor of the mind.” -‐ Leonardo da Vinci
