John C. Stennis Space Center History
The site known today as NASA’s John C. Stennis Space Center has a rich and colorful history dating as far back as 1699. Indians, settlers, pirates and soldiers shaped this part of Mississippi which now hosts modern-day explorers. -
Biloxi Lighthouse.
Throughout its 159 years, it has survived a score of hurricanes, including the great storms of 1947 and 1969. And, on August 29, 2005, it stood defiant against the wind and surge of Katrina.
